"Strength in Stories": Lighthouse Immigrant Advocates to Host COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Holland
Holland, Michigan - On Friday, June 24th, LIA will host a "no questions asked / no documentation needed" vaccine clinic with outdoor activities in Rosa Parks Green.
The Holland community, and especially Latinx and Hispanic community members are invited to a “no documentation needed” COVID-19 vaccination clinic hosted by Lighthouse Immigrant Advocates. The clinic will take place at Rosa Parks Green (19th and College), Friday, June 24th from 3-7pm and is free to all participants. Documentation will not be required to receive vaccination and any who are interested are encouraged to register.
“We understand the hesitancy around getting the vaccine, especially when it comes to presenting documents. That’s why we wanted to organize a safe and fun event for families where documentation is not needed and everyone can come together to celebrate the community in Holland.”
-Eva S. Alexander, Executive Director of Lighthouse Immigrant Advocates
In addition to offering vaccinations, participants will have the opportunity to hear from Latinx and Hispanic community members on their own immigration experiences and the work of Lighthouse Immigrant Advocates. Featured speakers will include Alfredo Gonzáles of Hope College, Johnny Rodriguez, the Executive Director for Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP), and Eva Alexander, the Executive Director for LIA. Everyone from the community is welcome to attend and enjoy speakers’ stories, food trucks, a free live Zumba session, live mariachi music, free paletas, and a variety of family friendly activities hosted by community partners.
In partnership with City on a Hill Health Clinic and Well Design Studio, the clinic will offer Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen J&J vaccine options. Anyone who receives a vaccination will also receive a $50 gift card, and have a chance to win a grocery basket donated by Community Action House.
