Threats of employer raids, mass deportations, and increasingly dangerous rhetoric about the immigrant community associated with the incoming Trump Administration have left many of our neighbors scared. What if ICE shows up at my house? How do I prepare for possible deportation? Can I still call 911 if I'm undocumented?
While the threats we see in the media are frightening, all persons within the United States are entitled to rights protected by the U.S. Constitution and Michigan Law, regardless of whether or not they have legal immigration status. The team at Lighthouse Immigrants Advocates has prepared succinct Know Your Rights literature for both our nonimmigrant and immigrant neighbors, and we need your help to spread the word.
We invite you to join us for Love Your Community, Know Your Rights on Saturday, February 15 of 2025, as we come together to empower and inform our immigrant neighbors about their rights through a day of canvassing around our community!
